Give the Gift of Human Rights
Dear Friends,
I invite you to join the thousands who are
inspired each year to change the world for
lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people
everywhere. A gift to the International Gay
and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC),
whether large or small, has a ripple effect
around the world, helping LGBT people in
Uganda, Guatemala, Pakistan, and Singapore
demand dignity and fairness.
Never before has the global LGBT community
been so visible. Never have we had a better
chance of challenging homophobia and fighting
back against discriminatory laws. But,
visibility has a price - backlash from those
who fear a world in which gay, lesbian and
trans people live openly. Everyday, IGLHRC
works with LGBT groups and allies around the
world to promote the incorporation of
international human rights principles such as
equality, privacy and freedom of expression
into the laws and policies of every country.
Please take a moment to read
our newest annual report. Then, be as
generous as you can by supporting IGLHRC's
global mission of equality.
With the help of so many this past year,
IGLHRC worked:
- Hand-in-hand to establish the first
LGBT group in Zambia;
- With the Nigerian LGBT leadership to
counter months of persistent attacks on LGBTI
people;
- With veteran Indian and Nepali gay
lawyers to ensure that international laws
addressing equality be incorporated into
Nepali law;
- To break down the barriers at the United
Nations that keep LGBT groups from being full
participants in the global process.
None of this is possible without your

the equality of LGBT people everywhere. Be
